You could probably reproduce published work without too much difficulty. But, yeast metabolic engineering isn't easy. It took many publications and hundreds of thousands of man-hours to develop the Artemisinin yeast to an acceptable level of productivity.

There's also a yeast that could brew alcohol that would make you high:

The legality of it would be a separate issue. The cannabinoid paper says that DEA papers are needed to get their yeast.
